Easiest way to get Logic tempo/transport info into Max?

All I need basically is to have a metro object in Max that spits quarter note bangs in sync with my Logic project, what is the simplest way to make this happen? I guess I could set up a dummy midi clip that sends MIDI out to Max, but I know that when using Live with Rewire or Max For Live, it is easy to set up a metro and transport object to get full tempo sync between the two programs, and I was hoping that this could work the same way with Logic. So far I've been unsuccessful with the transport object. I guess I don't really need any bpm or time signature info from Logic, just some kind of steady tick so I can shuffle through Jitter presets in sync with the music coming from Logic. I'm still kind of lost when it comes to Logic and Rewire, so any advice or comments based on personal experienced would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

You could send midi clock from Logic and have a simple receiver in Max, like this

You could try Midi clock from Logic via a virtual midi port into something like this:

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

Edit: doh! beaten again!

Thanks for the replies! I only see IAC and the two Max ports as input selections, how do I make it so MIDI clock appears as an available input? Do I need to set up anything in Logic so it knows to send this information? Or is MIDI clock just a standard message that rtin should receive automatically? I'm still a newbie with Logic's environment, so I might need some more assistance if that has anything to do with it. Thanks,

Somewhere in the Project settings /MIDI tab there is a drop menu to select the port(s) on which Logic sends midi clock. In Logic (v8 at least) you can also navigate there from Prefs/MIDI/sync: there is a button at the bottom of that window.

Thanks spectro, found it! Looks like you can enable two different output destinations. Works great! Can't wait to play with some tempo synced video and lights!
