EUCON protocol with Max
Hi gang,
I've made some searches about the topic with little success and only found some old threads. I would like to use my Avid S3 controller with Max.
Does anyone know if its possible ?, I guess it should be possible as EUCON works in a network and it should use some ports inside the computer. But i don't know how to make them visible to Max.
Also it would be great to use EUCON as i think is faster than HUI.
Any idea ?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Because EUCON is now proprietary, this is going to be pretty difficult. Too bad, because it would be a nice feature.
Bump !!!
As now I have some time to dive in to this.
Yes Avid S3 is fantastic and I'd like to use it to spatialize sound with a Max 7 patch.
Now that I know EUCON a little bit better I know I can share control surfaces with other apps other than Pro Tools. And it shares the surfaces in two different ways one as an HUI control surface and as a Mackie controller.
1.- Can I use HUI with Max 7 ? if yes how?
When I configure S3 as a Mackie controller I receive messages in Max 7 using the well known midiin object, but not in the normal way Midi messages are transmitted, I see only the value number, no controller or channel number in the messages. I don't know the way Mackie controller work..... so
2.- Does Mackie use normal Midi messages ?
3.- Does anyone know how could I use S3 as a Mackie controller, or how could I see or process those messages as normal Midi messages ?
Max sees S3 as an Euphonix control surface, and as long as I understand It divides the surface in 4 different section, that I see as:
Euphonix MIDI Euphonix port 1
Euphonix MIDI Euphonix port 2
Euphonix MIDI Euphonix port 3 and so on...
Thanks for your help
