external midi controler
has somebody advice for me regarding midi control, please.
I need to control sliders and presets e.g. program changes. 8 sliders are enough but I need 20 or more bottons or pads to map the presets of a program list.
Any sugestion for a device?
Livid Block?
thanks Chris, that would be good with the xpc extensions.
How do we address a program change under Max5?
strange question for a "2 projects" habitus.
but well, message "192, $1" to [midiout] or use [midiformat].
thanks xh9o.
the question is not so strange, because I never used that before. I would have taken 144. I have a motor mix and only use faders so far. There are even more than 2 projects....
some general info on basic midi commands:
thanks a lot for your help xH9o!
yesterday i bough a jl cooper cs-10, they were really expensive some years ago and now go very cheap (mine was 90€).
very compact with 8 sliders, 6 knobs, jog wheel, 30 buttons. best thing is it has no inner programming, so you can use every(!) button etc. just for programming with max. every button is sending 2 states (pressed and released), which means you can double function everything. it sends cc, receives sysex for the led.
i use the 4 status-leds (solo mute loc sel) to select banks, and the 8 buttons next to them for the presets. 32 are enough for me.
