Fade Dots on LCD Object

Sym's icon

Hey Cycling Community,

I'm at the development of a visual patch at the moment.
The idea is that everywhere in the Room where a Sound happens a Dot is Painted on the LCD object.
I managed to paint the Dots according to the Location in the Surround Ambience.

But the Screen quickly gets to full and I would like to have the old Dots to smoothly fade out again.
Has anyone an Idea on how to Achieve this?

Something like this?

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

After you specify the location of your dot you can specify the colour, the fourth number controls the alpha attribute. Actually, I don't think that would be practical. You could use one big sprite and continuously paint that where your background is, the dots would fade out gradually...I think.

Thanks think this is going to work. Now I Only need to store the Location of the Dots in a List and then fade them out one after the other. The only downside is that newer Frameovals can be overpainted, too.

You probably wouldn't have to target them individually, I think if you kept drawing a feint background it would just overlap them.
