Faderfox controllers
just wondering if anyone has any experience (good/bad) using these with Max/MSP
I'm thinking about purchasing one and would like some feedback
thanks

I have the one with 6 faders on. It's great - well built and (so
far ) very reliable. Lot's of layers (ie controls can be switched to
different controller numbers), so if your memory is good you can
control lots of parameters with one box.
The rotaries have a single 0-127 mode, all the others are inc-dec, so
you'll need to make a little abstraction to turn that into whatever
value range you want.
Lawrence Casserley used them for quite a long time, so he may have
something to add, but I would recommend them highly.

thanks,
I was a little concerned as they are preconfigured for Ableton, but I guess it was foolish to assume that Max wouldn't be able to dissect the output control data.
The size and layout look perfect and seeing as how I dont live too far from Robotspeak I think I may go pick one up in the next few weeks.
If anyone else has used these I'd really appreciate your input.
thanks again, Zach

Which of course is the beauty of max - it doesn't really matter how
the controller is preconfigured 'cause you can route anything to
anywhere!
I think you'll be very happy with the faderfox(s)

The LX2 works great with max. You can reprogram it as you like and
you even get some stickers with it to help your memory and remove the
Ableton preconfig text.
