FEATURE REQUEST: Nonaudio hostsync
Hi, I've been doing a lot of tests with hostsync~ and I've noticed that using a metro 1 with audio off produces much cleaner and reliable timing out of hostsync~'s outlets. When I turn the audio on, everything sort of goes to hell and becomes unstable. I've tried messing with the signal and I/O vectors to try and improve things but as far as I can tell, it's not happening.
*** My question is, can someone compile a version of hostsync~ [make it hostsync, IE no tilde] that isn't taken over by audio when turned on and can ONLY be queried by bangs? IE, a max only object, but still related to ad_rewire. Anyone who knows the object should know that audio does not need to be on in order to get timing information from it. (so spare me that "solution") ***
My current solution is to have a nonaudio hostsync~ in a seperate standalone from the main max application because, at least that way, I don't have to choose between solid timing out of hostsync~ or whether or not I want to use audio. Not being able to use audio in order to get reliable results out of hostsync~ is absurd.

is the source for hostsync~ apart of the SDK? I really think this external is suffering from a serious flaw. By not allowing one to use a stable hostsync~ with audio turned on, it really cripples the ability to use rewire applications to the best of their ability.
