Feature request: reloading externals

Think about the amount of time in your life you've spent waiting for max to open after rebuilding an external. Like... that's a real chunk of time for me.

Even if it was something hacky where max closed and reopened all open patches, it'd be worth it.

if you rename the new version, you can just doubleclick it to load it.

do you mean rename the external and the string in the C code? Not sure I understand

the filename should be enough? i often post-load externals into a runtime by launching the external file.
