Fennesz-esque
I am starting a Max/MSP project inspired by Christian Fennesz along with Tim Hecker, Alva Noto, and Pimmon. I am after other artists similar to them to look into, and suggestions on patches and ideas for patches for me to try.
I have created some generative patches that process input, but I am a little clueless as to how I can make them into 'songs'.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Pick one artist. Then pick one of their tracks. Then have a crack at it in Max.
If you have Max for Live (I don't) you can make some of your patch bits into M4L objects and play around in Live. It's hard to think "time" in Max, but much easier in a DAW.
Or setup rewire and play in your DAW of choice (Logic/Protools) and go back and forth with Max bits.
Thanks guys. I'm not sure how I would go about trying to recreate a Fennesz track. I've had a quick look at ppooll and didn't quite get it, and I have no idea what else he uses (in max) or how he goes about patching. I don't have a legal version of live or m4l, I have considered using it through REAPER. I'm not sure I like going through DAWs though. I'll have another crack at it. Thanks.
Are there any more suggestions?
