fiddle~ out of memory

Grubby's icon

Every time I create a fiddle~ object in max 5 it says it's out of memory. I've got max 4.6 too and it works fine in that. Any suggestions? I'm using a mac book pro, OS X 10.5.4.

thanks for any help

This problem happened to me today as well. Any news on this?

It should work if you include the four arguments: [fiddle~ 1024 1 20 3]. They should be set by default but I get the same error message unless I set them explicitly at instantiation. Hope this helps.

'fiddle~' / 'pitch~' are outdated on max5 / osx. you should use the master's NEW external for this purpose: 'sigmund~'. it is awesome.

but sigmund~ is pd only?
or did i miss something??

you missed something. max/msp version been available for quite a while now. i've used it in many projects already. even working nicely in maxforlive. as is the master's 'pd~' object, too, funnily enough...

Yes, sigmund~ is the new analyst in town (different algorithm than fiddle~). The funniest thing was to see Miller Puckette demonstrate his [pd~] object at expo74...

hello!

my max5 crashes as soon as i try to set npts (number of points in each analysis window) as an argument in [sigmund~]

(therefore i was never to fully understand this particular effect on [sigmund~])

max has never crashed on me before (mac os x 10.5.8), does anyone have an explanation for this?

cheers!
