Hey,

I would like to work a bit with FM synthesis
I founded on internet FM theory and applications by John Chownig
and David Bristow
here is the firts patch of book
how would you implement it in Max ?

There is an example of FM synthesis in the examples/sounds/FMSynth folder. You might also want to look at Chris Muir's Simple FM Synth which can be found here:

The image shows how the operators are combined by adding them all together. The FM is done by one operator influencing another. So what you've got there is additive synthesis with six sine waves. They are tuned to odd harmonics.

I did most of this book. It's downloadable part of the CNMAT MMJ Depot at:

Because of feedback, and sample rate, the Max versions won't sound the same as the DX7. But they will get you started.
