I'm really, really struggling with this and I need it for a show in a week.

Nothing seems to give me the current playback time in Ableton, respecting any tempo automation that's come before.

I've tried get_current_smpte_song_time, get_current_song_time from the Live API. These ignore tempo automation and thus drift away from the playback time given in the Ableton UI.

How can it be so difficult? Do I really need to integrate the tempo automation myself?
