Getting Transport to sync to Digital Perfomer via IAC Bus?
I have been trying to get my patch to receive MIDI Beat Clocks from Digital Performer via the IAC bus. I've confirmed that the beat clocks are getting to Max via the rtin object but the Transport object doesn't register anything and doesn't see the "IAC Driver Bus 1" as a clock source option when queried with "Getclocksources".
Does anyone know if the IAC is or will ever be a clock source option or if I'm doing something wrong? I've tried using rewire but I'm getting an error message and haven't made the plunge into trying to figure out what the problems are with how it's installed.
Not quite the answer to your question, but maybe this might help.
I wrote a Pluggo plugin that grabs information from the host and sends to via OSC to somewhere else. Haven't updated it in almost a year, but it should still work. Needs Pluggo Runtime.
You can't sync the transport (ITM) system to external MIDI at this time.
Try rewire.

Any chance the transport object has been updated to allow syncing to midi beat clock in the past year? If it has, I can't figure it out. :/
Syncing software to midi beat clock is generally problematic since midi jitter causes tempo fluctuations.
Consequently, some major DAWs like Cubase or Logic don't support it at all.
But in Max you can use midi clock perfectly for syncing transport start/stop, like this
