Hi,

I found this website which contains resources dealing with granular synthesis: http://www.granularsynthesis.com/
Your best choice is probably to get a copy of the book Microsound by Curtis Roads.
Do a search in the max/msp forums and you'll find other information and links to free patches you can open up and study, starting with the granularized patch in the max examples folder.

Cheers,

Nicolas

There's a granular example that gets installed with Max, called
"granularized."

I have a granular-ish thing called TheMill, which can be found here:
http://www.xfade.com/max/mill/

I'm sure there are other patchers, too.

There are also a few granular externals. Searching for "granular" on
maxobjects.com returns quite a few things.

The site with the Sakonda-patch seems to be down. Looked for this once before also, without any luck, does anyone know of a working link?

Your munger-patch looked slick by the way, but I couldn't get any sound. Gave up pretty quickly when I saw those plugin and plugout objects, which I haven't touched yet;) Anyway, thanks for sharing.

I've been playing with granular-2.5 by Nobuyasu Sakodna. Its a great example of granular synthesis, however it appears that the patch does not allow for independant control of grain density. Can anyone show me how I would add grain density control to granular-2.5? Thanks.
