A quick forum search would reveal many, many granular synthesis patches.

There's also an example patch bundled with Max that pretty much does everything in that video. Go to your Max installation folder, and locate the following file:

Examples/Sampling/Granular/granularized.pat

If you've made a start but it doesn't work, post your patch and I'm sure people will take a look at it.

If you don't know where to start, then you might need to learn some more basics first. Break it down into smaller chunks:

1. Make a patch that plays a sample.
2. Add a control for pitch.
3. Add a volume envelope.
4. Add controls to select a portion of the sample to loop.
5. Add controls to randomly vary the loop points.
6. Read about [poly~], and study its help patches. [poly~]ify your patch.

Or just download one of the many granular patches that people have already shared. You could have done so in less time than it took me to write this.

Hi
I believe the video you cited uses the mdeGranulator external, a previous version of which was a little unpredictable under Windows; christripledot's suggestions are helpful, as are the multitude of tutorials out there which can be found with even the most cursory of searches, including my own:

And after my all self-appointed peacemongering t'other day, the spirit of CB didst possess me. Sorry for the hypocrisy, I don't really have crabs.

@christripledot
never even crossed my mind - but - hilarious coincidence!

"crabs" LOL

Age/wisdom/experience with programming and patching and teaching and practicing bestows us with X-Ray vision, where OP's like this are concerned though

basically i was wondering if anyone would mind sharing a simple player much like this one, if they created one and were willing to share.

i would like to study this one and expand my knowledge from here...

but only if someone is willing to provide.

thanks

or search Google blogs for "fCast"

I can share if you want.

I learned what little I know about Granulation Synthesis in part from stripping out the work of others.
