Guitar signal into MaxMsp PATCH
Hi,
I am rather new to max, and i find it to be an awesome piece of software! There are though some things that i cant understand and i hope you can help me.
Basically i am trying to get the signal from a guitar, through the protools mbox soundcard and into an MaxMsp patch. I have so far used ezadc~ and with the fft~ object as i am trying to visualize the sound. This works fine, as i can visualize the analog sound my microphone recognizes, when i am making any sort of noise.
But how do i get the signal from the soundcard to be recognized by my max patch? (as i presume its a digital signal) I have tried using the dac converter but i dont really understand how to make it work. Any thoughts on this? Help is much appreciated!
All you should have to do is go under the Options file menu, open the DSP Status window, and select Your input device. Normally it defaults to either your Built-In input on your computer, or the internal microphone.
Check out the MSP Turorial "Audio I/O" for any additional information. Here's the online link:https://cycling74.com/docs/max5/tutorials/msp-tut/mspaudioio.html
I'm also fairly new to Max/MSP and use an MBox 2 Mini for input/routing and never had any problems so far.
Amazing, that worked! Thank you very much - I appreciate it!!
there's a whole guitar processing tutorial online here on the c74 website you might find interesting.
