Quite a specific question, but I need urgent answers:

I am looking for a portable interface. the Edirol is sexy because 

light and small, and the RME because it is full packed.

I need some testimonies, very quickly: yes or no kind of.

Any good/bad experience with either of them, when firewire bus- 

powered? Even with phantom-power on for the mic input?

and I find it really good, the bus powered works fine

the bus powered is ok (i did not test the phantom power...)

one thing I like in the RME is the versatility of the inputs

(the gain adjustement, the two instrumenst inputs...)

I work with the RME 400 since 4 months 
and I find it really good, the bus powered works fine
the driver is excellent to my opinion
no problem at this day
also in concert conditions 
the bus powered is ok (i did not test the phantom power...)
but I will, and i could tell you later,
one thing I like in the RME is the versatility of the inputs
(the gain adjustement, the two instrumenst inputs...)
