Has anyone used one of these multitouch displays with Max?
I'm hoping it works with Fingerpinger any ideas?
I don't think it works with fingerpinger. fingerpinger is dedicated to Apple's Magic Trackpad.
However if you watch the related movies it seems to work quite well.
But how does Max interpret multiple touch coordinates simultaneously without an object like Fingerpinger?
An alternative to a specific object is the use of a standard communication protocol. The TUIO protocol has been specifically developed for multitouch devices. It uses OSC messages (with specific tags) and generally OSC messages are transmitted trough Ethernet or wi-fi. However as far as I know this 3M display cannot send TUIO messages.
See http://www.tuio.org .
there is no official TUIO drivers for 3M displays, but you may try this :

Mathieu, maybe you should tell him about your great MMF... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnQHoCDxiRw - http://www.mathieuchamagne.com/2009/03/04/mmf-max-multitouch-framework/
I'm thinking too to buy very soon one of those great multitouch screens to use your MMF in max to edit my complex max sound synthesis full of sliders and multisliders...
But a also another more general question about multitouch screens to use as a musical instrument: Does somebody knows any big multitouch screen that is nicely sensible to the "SIZE-AREA" feature of MacBookProTrackpad/fingerpinger and iPads ?
