having problems using [pfft] - please help!

hey, just wondering if someone can help me out please. I'm pretty fresh to making effects, and I'm just trying to use [gizmo] to make a simple tool to bring the pitch up one octave. the help patch for gizmo shows something similar to what I'm after. However, I'm problems with the pfft object, in order to send the signal through fft. I'm not able to make a subpatch for pfft. I would have thought i'd open a subpatch, but I can't figure out of to make on of these, or how the [pft[ references the subpatch. If anyone could please help me out, I'd be very grateful. thanks very much tom

create the subpatch, save it somewhere in your search path, open it by typing the name in?
      [pfft~ mypatch 1024 1]
i dont know offhand, but it might not load when you forget to enter the arguments for resolution and overlap, maybe thats your problem.

aha... thank you, got it going on now... my next question- using gizmo for a pitch shift through pfft, the output sounds very grainy... is there a way to smooth out the output? This seems to happen even with a large size pfft thanks very much for your help! tom
