Help expanding capabilities of external foot controller for Live
So I've got a Line 6 FBV Shortboard II, and it works great within Live. The only issue is that there is no way to create banks of CCs. This means that I am limited to 13 CC buttons, 3 CC pedals, and 1 toe switch. What I'd like to be able to do is to take the top 3 buttons of the FBV and create 3 banks.
I find myself way out of my depth on Max4live programming, though the logic behind what I want to do seems fairly simple: since I can set the switches on the pedal to any CC value I want, via the Line6 software, I figure make the top three CCs 1, 2 and 3, respectively. Then if I press 1 it makes all the other switches - and pedals - their original values (say 4-18), 2 increases their CC outputs by 20, and 3 by 30.
My gut tells me that if I am lucky enough to have someone respond with the needed M4L patch, or at least a strong starting point for me to continue, I'll look at it and kick myself for not being able to do it on my own, and yet I seem incapable of making this happen on my own.
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!
HAHA! I knew there was someone else out there trying to do this. I just finished doing a version of it a few days ago. I ended up making it way more complicated than I originally intended once I figured out what I was doing but it is totally possible to do what you want to do. I made the up and down buttons scroll through banks and then have all the other buttons doing whatever I decide to assign them to. Here is a chopped up one that works which you can probably modify to do what you want if it doesn't quite get you what you need. It might get you started at least. I don't know all the Max idioms yet so it's a little more mathy looking than most of the ones I see on here. I hope it makes some sense at least. Let me know if you have any questions.
hi - I just got my FBV express Mkii.. do either of you know if it is possible to control the LEDs from Max?
