HELP! Less than 3 days until install and i may need a new computer....

    Hi all,
Firstly, let me just say a big thankyou to the forums in general. The support I've had over the last 12 months of max has been amazing, and certainly has helped me develop a more solid arts practice. Many thanks to you all!
Here's my dilemma. I have a patch for a surround sound install that is working all fine and dandy :)
But, I'm running it off a macbook pro 2.5GHZ Intel core duo with 2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, and the soundcard I'm outputting from is a motu ultralite mk3.
I have an old Powerbook g4 that I was hoping to use for install. Its 1.5Ghz Power PC with only 512 MB SD RAM. Knowing nothing about power of computer VS power of patch, I guess I was obviously a little optimistic with my expectations.
So the audio plays but drops out regularly, and this is not good. I'm also getting incredibly desperate to get this sorted out in the next approx. 48 hours before I install. I know this isn't good practice, but to be honest the max patch was plan E considering all the other technical problems that have come up in the last 2 weeks of finishing.
Long story short: What laptop/netbook specifications will I need to run this thing? I can't afford another mac obviously, but considering technological improvement since my old G4 I dare say I won't have to spend that much. I've included the patch below to give you an idea of what I'm running, but if there's any other info I can supply you with please let me know.
The motu will run either USB or Firewire. Currently I'm running it as firewire, but I assume USB should also be fine.
Please help, getting desperate and drinking waaay too much coffee!! :)

Try this. Moving the svf~ objects more to the end of the audio chain should clear up some cpu headroom.. Deleting unnecessary gui objects (meter~) will help you too.. good luck with your installation.
