Are you installing max for live? or just max? when are you receiving that error?

Cheers for reply, I click the link that says download from cycling74 as it suggested on the Ableton link, it say it is Max5_45300

I open Ableton and when I go to launch any max instrument or effect is say the link is broken, either relink it in preferences or download max here. I have done both, both are authorised...

Stressed! Not sure where I am going wrong.

hard for me to say what could cause that. I can't think of anything short of a reinstall.

No worries, sent query to Ableton support, hopefully they will have some idea, cheers though mate

Hard to make any remote diagnosis, but maybe one thing you could look at: Max5_45300 is the latest build and it says that i requires Live 8.2.2. You could check if you have an earlier Live version running...

Thanks, but no, it is unfortunately it is 8.2.2 updated before doing max, cheers though...

Please make sure both Max and Live are installed properly (into the Applications folder). Sometimes people accidentally run Live off of the mounted .dmg. You'll want to be sure you're running it from the Applications folder.
