Hide status bar by default

I know I can manually hide it by using patcher inspector. But is there any way to make it the default behavior? So when I create a patch, only toolbar shows at the bottom of patch window.
I think these things should be in preference settings. I want to hide the status bar, and a person new to Max may want patch window to always show the sidebar.

      I agree!

I also agree. In fact, the docs say:
"The Status Bar is visible by default, but Max will remember the display status of the Status bar when you quit the application - If the Status Bar was not visible when you quit Max, it will not be shown the next time you launch the program."
But it doesn't work. Just submitted a bug report.

FWIW, these settings (sidebar state and status bar state) get saved correctly by Max on my system (Max 6.0.5, Mac OS 10.6.8, MacBook Pro). Open Max, create New Patcher, set them the way you want them, quit Max.
