I am trying to figure out how to track the xy coordinates of some circles in a moving image. 

My guess is that I will have to use cv.jit, but I never used it for this purpose so I have no idea what object to use and how.

most likely you will want to use some cv.jit.blobs.* objects. the cv.jit.blobs.sort help demonstrates excatly this using label, centroids, sort, and color
