How does one make ative tabs in the window top bar

How does one make active tabs , which are used often in the help files ?

I do have to say that when while the patcher is open and audio is enabled ,when ticking "show on parent patcher tab " , max crashes a lot during this process
Steps to reproduce
Create a new patcher
Insert an (exisiting ) subpatcher
Go into the subpatcher , unlock subpatcher , then view inspector window
Enable view on parent tab : instant crash
