How to combine text file output to textedit box input
Hi Everyone
I'm new to Max and modifying a M4L devic
e. I have a number of text files that I read a row and concatonate the outputs from and put into a textedit box. The textedit box is a search box for the device and i need to find a way of inputing concatonated strings into it.
I updated the patch and it worked successfully at first but after saving and reopening for some reason it has stopped working.
Subsequently I can successfully get the lists to output individually but cannot get a combined output into a textedit box.
I have investigated zl join, prepend, combine and join however I'm thinking the textedit box needs input in a ceratin format and although the patch worked previosuly - for some reason it doenst like the input I'm giving it.
Can you help me fix the issue? - the patch should concatonate the output from several text files and input that into a textedit box.
While I was waiting for the post to be vetted - I found a solution. Random trial and error out of frustration - I "prepend set" before the textedit box and voila! I get the output i needed. I havent assembled into the main device yet - but it looks like it is working correctly.
I used the print function to see what was being sent and it showed the textedit box was recieving the information but didnt like the input - so i then thought about "setting" it instead and that worked.
