How to create a .jxf file from an audio file?

I've been enjoying Tadej Droljc's SSP Dissertation patches for a while now. What I would like to be able to do is create my own .jxf files from my own audio, so I can use them in the patches. I have literally no idea how to do this, so any help would be most gratefully received!
Here's the thread about Tadej's fabulous work by the way:

      Hi Paul,
2 years later I am having a similar issue. Did you manage to find a way to create the jxf files from own audio?

      Hi Surequta,
Yes! Not that I ever figured it out myself... Just download Jean-Francois Charles' excellent Spectral Processing Tutorial and use patch 4; - explore the sonogram:

Hi Paul (or anyone)--having issues with the Jean-Francois Charles zip and wondering if you ever figured out how to do this? Not exactly fluent in max, so....
Is this where FFT comes in, as in a wav is time domain and needs to be converted to frequency domain, i.e. jxf? If you could point me in a direction I'd be super grateful.
      Thanks, James
