how to get key specific aftertouch with an AKAI MPD18 ??

This seems like a simple problem but I haven't found much info about it out there, so I'm hoping someone here can help me out :)
With my drumpad triggerer in MAX, I can use touchin, or use midiin->midiparse, and get aftertouch messages, but I can't figure out how to get AT msgs for any specific note. The msgs I get are, as far as can attain, 'global'.
E.g. I'd like to use one pad's AT to control a metro and another pad's AT to set a gain~ level. Something like that. But if I'm performing AT with both pads, I can't differentiate their AT values. Using MIDI Tester I can see values change for AT but not for Poly press., the latter sounding more like something I might want? I hear a lot of enthusiasm for Akai's drumpads, so I'm sure I'm missing something simple here. Thanks!

I can't test, but I think that poly AT is sent by midiparse's 2nd output (poly pressure).

aftertouch (channel pressure) IS global, you want poly pressure.
as you might know, you have to choose wether the akai uses poly or channel pressure using the software editor.

Why of course. Why I didn't I think of that - the software editor. I guess since I haven't been pushed to use it ever I forgot that I could use it. And it turns out to give me other great customization options, yay! Thanks for the quick response!
