how to have video playback in max on windwos10?
Hi guys,
may someone of you can help me with this topic:
I´d like to have some video playback. Normaly it is done by the jit.qt.movie objekt... but i figured out, that it´ll need quicktime to run. But since windows 10 apple is not supporting quicktime for windows anymore....
and I can´t use this way to play a video-file in max anymore.
Doas anyone of you have an Idea how to solve this? Or could anyone tell me how I can play videofiles in max/msp on a windows10 computer without quicktime?
It would be great if anyone of you can help me! Thank you!
[jit.movie] I use it with the viddl engine (see package manager) on Win10.
You'll need version 7 or 8 of Max so that you can use the "viddl" engine (the default now) which works without needing to use Quicktime. If you're using a previous version, then you're stuck with Quicktime, and you are correct that it is no longer supported in Windows 10.
if using Max 7 or 8 in windows, the default video engine is viddll, and is part of the installation (no need for package manager download). if using Max For Live, then you need to install viddll via the Package Manager.
thank you guys!
It works :)
