how to jit.unpack and back again with open gl in Max5 ?

    One can do that in Max6 using []. But what would be the procedure for those who haven't upgraded yet?
    Is there any chance to mimic this in Max5?

      you can access individual color planes from an opengl texture inside of a shader. what are you trying to do?

      thank you for stepping by,
      unfortunately shader-writing is not one of my virtues ... also i still hope it may become one day ...
      I'd like to separate the rgb_channels, and displace/resize/distort(as oldTV) them individually with [floats]
      I have my whole jitter chain in slabs, and would love to fit this in

      i think you're only two options are learning shaders, or upgrading to max6 and gen.
