Hi, Im a beginner of MaxMsp.
I'm trying to make a drum part of a song called "15 step (Radiohead)" and wondering about how to make hand clapping sound. I was trying to look it up on the internet but I coudn't find it anyway. So I'll appreciate if someone tell me how to make the sound.
I'm not a native English speaker.Sorry for my bad English.

Hi
you're English is ok!

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

This is very simple to do in Max, you just need a noise source, an amplitude envelope and a filter:

Then all you need to do is add some reverb (yafr or yafr2) and perhaps a multiple delay line to create a ensemble effect

I find a few squigles in the old amplitude envelope can produce some interesting sounds, and [click~] is pretty useful here too

Five years too late here probably, but we have a tutorial on this (and other percussion sounds) if that's useful:

Fun challenge. My best 30 minute try. This is based off my experience of attempting to do handclaps in a vocal booth. When I tried it, I said "Wow, that literally sounds like an electronic click. It doesn't sound like clapping at all!" Later on I confirmed it with a class at Bell Labs' original an anechoic chamber!

most clap samples or synthesized claps in 80ies drum machines make "claps", i.e. 2 or 3, and not only a single clap. that is half of its two most important properties.
