How to recognize a range of outputs

Hi there! Since I have no idea about how to look for this problem inside the forum I'm writing this new topic. I made a patch which basically recognize ranges of values, which are initialized when I open it. So let's assume that at the inlet you connect a slide which goes from 0 to 1000 and you want that every time that a specific range is touched it outputs a message. I think that my solution here is tooooooo complicated and I'm sure that there is something in max which does the same thing but in an easier way.
    Can someone help me!?

Doing something like this using [scale] and [coll] should have the same effect and save you an awful lot of patching.
      Max Patcher
In Max, select New From Clipboard.

Thanks a lot! This fits perfectly my needs! I didn't know these two objects but they seems really helpful.
