How to reduce black noise on Kinect Depth?
Hello.
I am trying to make as smooth depth visual as possible with Jit.freenect. mode 3
Tried to add blur effect, but it doesn't erase black noises.
what causes this noises? reflections or lack of IR coverings?
will the noise reduces if I add extra IR Lightings?
any jitter adjustment method?
Also,
from about 4ft. Kinect meets normal input + IR,
however depth visual (black>white) starts from the Kinect, so from 4ft. away, it is not black (more brighter)
How can I adjust this range to start depth range from 4ft. away from the kinect? Because whole part of the depth field change all together.

Yes, it should be doable. You can jit.matrixset to hold the previous frames or try jit.slide even. But if the Kinect itself is the noise source then you will always sacrifice something to get rid of it. The more frames you use to "smooth" the data the more temporal resolution you will lose.
