How to use concurently in Max both a Motu 896mk3 and 828mk3 hybrid?

I need to use both the "Motu 896mk3" and the "828mk3 hybrid" so to have 16 analog stereo inputs and outputs. Your help would be much appreciated.

hello.
You can't use them both within max.
You CAN have 16 analog outputs still.
Buy an optical adat cable.
Use one soundcard with max. Use the ananlog outputs you have and send the other 8 channels over Adat to the other soundcard.
Use the other soundcard in standalone mode(possible with these models right?), so without the pc being connected and do the routing..

If you're on a Mac you should be able to create an aggregate audio device via the Audio MIDI Setup application. Then max will be able to access all the inputs and outputs.

Just to confirm what dhj... says, I'm doing just that with a MOTU Ultralite and Ultralite mk3. They are connected together with firewire then one is plugged into my mac and both are set up as an aggregate device that is seen in Max.
