Hello,

The ICST Ambisonics package for multichannel spatial audio and algorithmic source control has seen an extensive overhaul and is now available in the Max Package Manager and/or on our institutional download page: https://www.zhdk.ch/en/research/icst/software-downloads-5379/downloads-ambisonics-externals-for-maxmsp-5381

Enjoy!

Hi Jasch,
thanks for this new ICST update.

Two things:

1) When I use the download link on your institutional page and try to expand the downloaded archive, I get the following error:
Unable to expand "icst_ambisonics_v3.0.1.zip" into "Downloads".

2) Is the source code for this new version available? I might have asked you the same question in the past (for an older version) and you were kind enough to send the code to me privately, however I was wondering if there is a code repository online where users may be able to browse the code, contribute to it and/or report issues, etc...

Thanks

- Luigi

Thanks Luigi,
for your report.

1) We've seen this problem before, there seems to be a issue on the server, sometimes the package does not downloaded completely. The correct size for v3.0.1 is 9'805'223 bytes (under macOS). As mentioned, the package is also available in the Max Package Manager, so there is always a way to get it.

2) The code is hosted on our institutional gitlab and can only be accessed by members of staff. I'm happy to share the code on a case by case basis. The email route for reporting issues remains the best option.

all best,

Hello Jasch,

Thank you very much for this update. I'm on new Mac now. This external doesn't support on this architecture. Is there any solution for install this package in new mac?

Best,

You can install the existing package and run it under Max 8.2 with Rosetta (read https://cycling74.com/forums/max-8-2-released),
Otherwise, you'll have to wait for the upcoming package which we are preparing to release soon.

Hello,

Is there a simple way to convert the ambisonics signal to binaural? Without using HOA Library or SPAT5 but directly with ICST?
