iLok/reinstall issue

Hi
thanks to a searchbif infestation, I have recently had to reformat and reinstall my entire Vista OS. I downloaded the last version of Max 5.1.9 and found the old iLok driver setup utility I stored on an external drive.

I forget exactly what the process is for re-validating my iLok licence, but Vista fails to install it correctly, then when I try to open Max anyway I get this message: "the application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect...." MaxRT opens ok.

Has anyone had to reinstall Max/iLok in this way and can you offer guidance?

Thanks
Brendan

I haven't been able to resolve this. I have two files related to the iLok:

1.Driver Setup, downloaded from their website
2.iLokClient.

Installing any/either of these in any order DOES NOT validate MaxMSP and I'm starting to tire of the install/delete/reinstall loop I'm caught in........

solved

my most recent install of Max5 was in some way incomplete (which is why it also failed to show up in my Uninstall Programs list). A reinstall of Max fixed it.......fingers crossed.

God, it felt like cold-turkey not having Max to sooth my fevered brow.
