Images to Oscilloscope (XY Mode)
Dear all,
fascinated by lot of youtube videos about XY visualization of moving images on analog Oscilloscope in XY mode, I'm trying to reproduce the same effect on Max. For the moment I'm only interested in the basic process. Obviously I'm not trying to achieve clean and perfect results on scope~ or jit.graph objects :)
I've made this little patch that transform an image into a sort of audio-vector array
and then tried to sync Vertical and Horizontal scan of the scope~ objects, but something is wrong and cannot figure out exactly if the problem is in the audio sync or in the matrix elaboration.
Anybody with possibile solutions in mind?
the patch uses xray.jit.cellcoord object
nobody interested?
Hi Franz
I am looking for the similar thing, turning pixel file to audio XY vector, may I know have you got any progress for this patch? I was planing to use this method to print my laser cyanotype:

btw your works are amazing!

Hi!
I am new to Max, but excited about it and have been making decent progress (I think). I too am trying to figure out how to translate image data into usable XY data for controlling a laser. Have either of you figured out how to do this? @Franz, your sketch was very helpful, but I'm still hoping to just map the contours only, not the fill.
Here's a good example of what I'm aiming to create: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_F2uW-RLjY
Unfortunately, this person does not share his patch or describe his process.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Layne
