import hi res jpeg for manipulation

Hi, I am trying to import a hi res jpeg file - 30000 × 17078 and 596MB that I can then manipulate and use as a texture. It's important to have teh high resolution as I want to be able to zoom in on details. But the images don't load into a jit.movie or jit.matrix. Any ihelp muich appreciated.
