Impossible to launch multiple standalone applications on Vista/Max 5 !
Hello list,
It seems thant I encounter a problem with Max 5 and Vista. I have tried to solve it by cerating and testing multiple simple patches (a bang) but nothing succeeds... :-(
I am trying to optimize my ressources on a multi-core PC by launching multiple standalone applications instead of having only one unique patch running on one core. I created two standalones (.exe) and I am looking for a way to launch them simultaneously.
It should not be a problem, but when I launch the first excutable it works well (the processus window show that this is not the maxRT.exe program but the executable that works). But when I try to launch the second one, or to launch a parallel Max Runtime session, notthing happens (I click on the .exe file and nothing...).
Has anybody already encounter this problem ? Wouls you have any idea conerning the reason for this dysfunction ?
Thank you a lot for your help !
Yves
I can reproduce on XP64 - We'll have a look at it.

Thank you for your help !
Here are two other informations:
- my Vista version is too an Ultimate 64 bits ;
- I have tested the double standalone launching with a 4.63 max version and it works.
--> So, it seems to be a problem between 64 bits Windows versions and Max 5.
Best regards,
Yves
side troll, concerning running jitter on xp 64bit system, will these allow
me to use bigger buffer (above 2gig, matrixset for example) ?

No. Max is still a 32 bits application.
