Improvisational Music Synthesis Using Praat and Max/MSP
Hi everyone,
I'm working on a project that combines improvisational music synthesis with real-time audio analysis and synthesis using Praat and Max/MSP. My goal is to create an interactive system where a performer can input live speech or vocal sounds into Praat, which analyzes features like pitch, formants, and intensity. This data will then be sent to Max/MSP to generate synthesized music and visual content that responds dynamically to the input.
How can I efficiently script Praat to continuously send real-time analysis data to Max/MSP?
What strategies can I use in Max/MSP to create a responsive and customizable performer interface?
How can I integrate jitter objects in Max/MSP to visualize the improvisational aspects of the performance?
Are there any existing patches, examples, or resources that could help with this project?
Any advice, tips, or pointers to relevant resources would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help.
Best,
Ester Levy
