Infinite midi Knob
hello, i just connected my reloop midi controller to max msp, my idea is to control with an infinite knob the frame of the video, allowing me to navigate through my clip. now the problem... my infinite knob output only 3 numbers instead of the classic 0-127 midi scale... it gives me a number when is stopped, a number when i rotate it to the right and a number when i rotate it to the left... it's possible to scale this valor to navigate with loop on my video? hope someone can help me!

If it's anything like in this (https://cycling74.com/forums/novation-sl-encoders-to-control-dials-in-max) topic, you can use the patch I posted there to make an increasing or decreasing number from your endless encoder output.
mmm it works when i rotate right.... i rotate and he subtract 1, but when i rotate left, it adds 63...... i'm not expert, maybe something not working on the subpatch?
be happy that your infinite knob does not output 0-127 - I hate those which do so !!! the "right" way for them to work (in my opinion of course) is the way it did on the old Doepfer dial control - a different number for turnig right and left (which is what yours does)
than simply add ONE each time the "up" number arrives and minus ONE each time you turn left... building an accelerometer (which, when turned quickly makes steps of 5 or 10) would not be difficult either

Would something like this work? Just replace the values in the route object with the ones the controller provides.
@Nate : thanks a lot for your patch. I was about to ask to Kasper to elaborate a little bit as I have those knobs he hates. The time to login and you post the answer I was looking for !
It works well for me.
@Nate thanks. Old but Good :)
