Initialization error

Hello

I just reinstalled max 5 on my pc after formatting the harddrive, but now when I try to start MAX i get an initialization error code: -7. Does anyone know what that means and how to fix it?

I tried uninstalling, rebooting, installing, rebooting and then I get that message. I run a Vista 64bit and I have installed the extra little program thingy I need for it to work here also.

I get this error also and haven't been able to resolve this issue.
Has anybody come across this error?

I e-mailed Cycling 74's support and got this back. 'Lets try to do a clean install of the InterLok drivers.
1. From Add/Remove Programs, remove all instances of the InterLok driver.
2. Go to 'C:WINDOWSsystem32drivers' and delete tpkd.sys.
3. Clear Internet browser cache.
4. Download the latest x64 drivers from:http://www.paceap.com/dldrvr.html
5. Install and reboot.
Please remember that in order to run Max5 you will need the following installed on your computer.
Quicktime - a full install is recommendedhttp://www.apple.com/quicktime/products/qt/
Java Runtime:http://www.java.com/'

This did not work for me so e-mailed them back with no reply, so I e-mailed Pace who develop that Interlock driver thing, in which they replied back with 'Our technology has been tested to work on a 64-bit environment. If after Cycling 74 has investigated this issue further and there is some
connection with our technology they will be in contact with us for help. You will need to contact them for further information on this matter. Best Regards'

I still have yet to receive an e-mail back.

I have also tried right clicking on the Max icon and Running as the Administrator, and changed the compatability to Windows XP Service Pack 2 with no luck. It is definately a 64bit compatability issue though, as I have installed Max successfully on a 32bit system and it both failed on Vista Home and Windows 7 Ultimate because they were both 64bit.

That is pretty much all the help they have given me so far as well. I am glad I havent paid for the stuff yet if it doesn't work. I bought the Student License, had same problem and no help solving the issues.

I also seem to think that it must be a 64bit problem, my laptop has no trouble running max at all and it is 32bit.

Just annoys me greatly why it just won't work.

It turns out my Comodo Anti Virus poses a bit of a problem, the tech support asked me to uninstall and I did, and now max works, I don't know if you have the same suite installed?

Only question is, why it still works on my 32bit vista laptop which also has comodo on it ...

Indeed it would be nice to know if it's a setting in Comodo or something like that blocking Max and creating that error, because it is the only decent free firewall and it annoys me to have to install another one for Max.

Yeah, the Comodo firewall does not play nice with the standard Windows 64 bit OS and causes problems for our copy protection software. It took as a while to figure out what the heck was going on, but there's definitely an incompatibility. If any of you are still stuck and need help, please do not hesitate to write into support.

Cheers
