Input from multiple microphones
Hi everybody.
I'm working on a project where I need the input from two microphones. As Max only gives the possibility of choosing one device, I want to ask you if it's possible to somehow use more than one microphone?
My OS is Windows 7 and I have read something about that my problem might be solved using ASIO, but I'm not quite sure how.
Hope someone has the answer. Thanks in advance :-)
You can have more than one input look at [adc] help file. You will need an input device that has the capability of two or more channels of audio. A usb/firewire mixer, Mbox something like that. Then select it as input device and choose the number of channels via ADC arguments.
Anyway the question is how are you getting the audio from these microphones into MAX?
Thanks for your reply.
I will try to obtain a mixer of some kind then.
I'm not sure I understand your last question. Why would it be a problem to get the audio into MAX?
don't worry its not a problem getting audio into MAX, it's very easy. I just asked the question because I thought you might be already getting audio into MAX some how. For example: through you computers mic in or a usb mic or what have you.
Yes, I'm using the mic in my computer.
I will see what I can find out about the mixer.
Thanks again for your replies.
