Installation problem on Intel Mac - ezdac~ missing
So, having used the built in transfer function to transfer everything
over from my Powerbook to my Macbook Pro ....
I thought at first everything awas ok with Max, but then realised (or
started getting) various error messages. So I figured the best thing
to do was to wipe everything and start again.
So I removed 4.6 with AppZapper, after copying all of my 4.5 & 4.6
files over to an external disc for safety.
Re-installed Max/MSP and Jitter (most recent installers).
Now, whenever I try to launch max I get the following error messages ..
error: can't fragload ezdac~ (missing), err-4
and the same for ezadc~ and gain~
If I do a Find for ezdac~ I find ezdac~.mxo and ezdac~.help , but
that's it. ezdac~.mxo lives in the startup folder, so I guess that
that's the replacement for ezdac~??? But if so, why is Max still
looking for ezdac?
What's going on!!???
And what do I do to fix it?
thanks
David
I had the exact same problem and fixed it by trashing my preferences. I know it sounds stupid and that's exactly how I feeled after spending an evening trying to fix that by re-installing everything...Lesson here: always start debugging by trashing preferences.

You can try to fix the permissions (see Disk Utility in the Uilities
folder), it may help...
