Interactive Sonar Simulation Help

    Hi there,
    I'm working on a concept for an interactive museum installation. Has to do with bats, and sonar.
    The idea is to use the live feed from a video camera that is recording the room/space, and input from a microphone to simulate sonar, to an extent. Generally, to have the video become visible on a projected screen when the person interacting makes a sound or yells, or whispers. The video would be altered kind of like the DareDevil movie and such, and also vary in clarity depending on the loudness of the sound.
    I'm new to Max so any advice for getting started in this direction would be great.
