I'm a pretty new to MAX but have been diligently plodding my way through the included tutorials as well as Baz's tutorials on youtube. However, I'm cutting it close on an interactive video project that I over confidently dove into involving Arduino UNO and a PING sensor.

I have both Maxuino beta 016 and 014. I've gotten digital out to work with the example applications patch with 3 different LEDs activated by pushing the “out” buttons on the respective digital pins.

Now I'm having quite a bit of trouble understanding how to get digital input serial data read from my PING sensor. I don't know if I need to change the Arduino standard firmata code or if I can create something to display the serial data in MAX.

Basically I want the 4 different rates of change ranges, to play 4 different video files. The rates of change would be pre-determined through experimentation with the PING serial data.

I know similar topics have been addressed regarding audio playback including

 but I'm using MAX 6 and I don't know if there will be any issues regarding version changes.
