iPad/OSC/MaxMSP

Hi all,

Just wondering what the latest experience/feedback is on integrating an iPad (to use as performance interface with software such as TouchOSC, OSCemote, etc.) into a setup with MaxMSP on a Powerbook. I'd be interested to hear from those who've done it as to any suggestions, warnings, advice, etc.

Thanks,

Steven

I too would be extremely interested in this. I am looking for the iPad to send Midi data or perhaps evan just x-y coordinates to Max.

Don't know about Powerbook, but I use iPad and iPod with TouchOSC on Macbook Pro and Mac Pro very successfully and I love it. There's tonnes on the forum about this and several other OSC apps, just have a search. Have a look at Fantastick too.

Hi,
Using MMF for fantastick* or TouchOSC, I felt something annoying on the ipad compared to the iphone : In the case you want to put lots of sliders on your ipad (my case), then when editing really precisely a slider on the upper part of the screen, you would like to rest your wrist on the ipad : But this might be the solution : http://www.google.com/images?q=fingerless+glove

ipad + fingerless glove = :-)

Also : For a performance, you might avoid wifi routers (lags), my experience tells me that, creating a computer network (in your network prefs) is really the way to go.
