Is it possible to SHOW patch cords in Presentation Mode?

I know this may be going against the point of Presentation Mode, but is there a way to have patch cords to SHOW in presentation mode? (instead of the default automatic hiding)

Thanks in advance for any help.

Interesting question. I can see the value in that, but can't find a way to do it.

You can't do that.

Thanks for the info, Emmanuel.
In case anyone is curious, what led me to this question was the idea of using dummy patch chords to simulate a flowchart design in a patch. See a little sketch in the attached screenshot (that's in Patcher mode, of course).

Maybe have a look to bpatcher to organize things into groups. And use patching mode directly.

If you want to show some patch cords (or objects) and not others, you could always use the oldskool "Hide on Lock" feature.

Hide on lock is old school? That makes me feel older than hearing nirvana on a classic rock station.

You could use LCD to create dummy patch chords...

If jsui could have a transparent background it would be a possibility, but it isn't...

I would add at this point also a request for the new upcoming Max 5.1 if live.line is wider or higher than 4 pixels, let it draw the line diagonal!
That would make sense, should be easy to implement and would not need these overcomplicated workarounds we are talking about here...
(I would like a higher contrast for the line and background in edit mode as well btw., though that should be obvious...;)

Not sure this is the same question. I like to design with panels. I send the panels to the back. When I lock a patcher, the patch cords are hidden. I am color coding the patch cords for clarity so I need them to be visible in my standalone tutorial patches.

Someone told me how but I have lost the answer.

Select the panel, and use the Arrange menu / Include in Background.

Thanks Pedro but that doesn't work. Going into presentation mode makes the patchcords disappear. That is the issue. Apparently a design decision that was made many versions ago.

However, it does work in regular mode locked and will work for me since I am just starting to design my user interfaces. Perhaps Max 8 might include an option to "show patchcords in presentation" or, better still, the ability to show particular cords in the same way we select which objects to show.

One of my reasons for wanting this is that I find it sometimes instructional to see what things are connected - a kind of middle ground.

It was already established in this topic's replies that patch cords don't appear in presentation mode. As you didn't mention presentation mode in your post, I thought you were referring to the problem of patch cords becoming beneath the panel object when locking the patch.

sorry for the confusion. this thread was about presentation so I was asking about both as well as suggesting a fix in Max 8.
