I cannot find anything in the documentation about turning my Max patches into M4L devices. Can anyone point me in the right direction or to some kind of tutorial? Thanks

Start in Live by dragging a new device from the Max for Live category to the appropriate track. In fact, Live's help system has a nice tutorial on building your own m4l devices. Have fun!

You can only export Projects into AMXD devices. You can convert a patcher into a project from "Save as Project..." in the File menu and then gain access to the "Export Max for Live Device..." menu item.

Thank you! I am a total newbie with Max so I may end up bugging everyone here until I get it. This forum seems a lot friendlier than others.

Hi Jeremy, for me, "Export Max for Live Device..." is greyed out, both when opening the amxd from Max or from Live. I did find a workflow using "freeze device" and "save as", that seems to do the trick. Are these equivalent?

This is after I read through all doc pages that seem to be related to building and distributing M4L devices from the long list at
