Is there a way to set names or rename multiple objects sequentially, just like renaming a bunch of file names in the OS. I think if we could do this to object names in max, it will definitely be very handy for more complicated patches.
you mean something like [object-003] or [object argument-F] ?
you can do this by script-creating them. for 100 or more scripting is worth the hassle.
Yes, for instance, I want rename 10 send objects to "s vid1" "s vid2"..."s vid10", so how to script-create them as you mentioned. I'm using the Toolbox object for max, but seems not such function or scripts. Thanks.
[thispatcher] help file tells all...there's a lot there, so take a good chunk of time to study it and experiment. Great window-control commands too. You'll need to set the actual *text* of the object in your case, because the scripting name is different than "vid1" "vid2" as you have them (these are arguments to the [send] object, not its scripting name...though you can use the same scripting name if you want).
