Is there any way to query a sound file's ID tag info in Max? Specifically BPM

I do a lot of chopping and re sampling of sound files, and I try to keep them organized somewhat meticulously according to key, bpm, content, artist, genre, date etc. When I use these samples in my patches it is helpful in many circumstances to feed some of this metadata to Max in order to set certain parameters. Instead of trying to cram all of this info into the file name itself (so I can easily parse the text), it would be cool if I could use a standard id3 tag editor like iTunes to keep this information tagged with the file, but not clogging up the file name. Then hopefully there is some way to poll this information from the file and get it into Max. Has anyone done this before or heard of any kind of external like "idtaginfo." Thanks,

G

I'm waiting to read a reply here also, so I can learn too. I'll need this as well to efficiently organize an audio and a video archive. The usefulness for this is increased by the desire to use it to rapidly search and access in a real time performance. I hope you get some help.
